Dear God,

I found my sister’s letters in Mr.      car. I can believe he would keep my sister from me. He know she my only hope. Mr.    is a sad miserable man. No he a monster not a man. I’m going to put my hand on him like Sofia do to Harpo. I going to make Mr.   feel what I’ve felt ever since I’ve been here.

This letter would give Celie the rage to possibly hurt Albert. If she were to do so she would have the confidence and courage to stand up for herself and not let mister have power over her. Celie would need to have a plan on what to do after giving Albert a piece of her mind. She could possibly run away and maybe receive a bit of help from Shug. 

Summary: Today in class we read pages 61-65.

Reflection: Reading about Nettie’s missionary trip to Africa is very interesting and new to me as the reader. I’ve always heard about missionaries in historical text but reading how it could possibly have been is very interesting especially with the setting being in Africa.

 Prompt:  I’ve always been curious about historical and government corruption. I think this curiosity stems from world history and political history but it sure is something I think about every now and then. Currently many people believe for example that the U.S is falling into corruption. Our current president has caused many to retaliate his actions and administration. But it’s not just the U.S that has government corruption other countries in Africa also have major corruption issues. My main curiosity is to find or know where it all started and who is responsible for it (historically wise). Many say it’s the “Deep State” others say it’s the “Illuminati” who ever or what ever it is I’d like to know.     Summary: Today in class we finished our characterization poster.  Reflection: Finishing the poster wasn’t too difficult. I did struggle a bit on the analysis of Rose’s role in the play.

After hearing your classmates’ storymap presentations, choose one classmate’s story that stood out to you. Write about what you liked or learned from their journey and explain why it was meaningful to you.

 Prompt Response: I really enjoyed Roxxane's story map. It had an interesting and serious tone to it. The interesting part was the curse that runs in her family. I was surprised and shocked to hear that the majority of the deaths in her family have been all males. That was very shocking. I did like how for some parts of her story map it got serious. The situation with her mom pressuring Roxxane to follow in her footsteps and become a Jehovah's Witness was very relatable. It was relatable in a sense of knowing how it feels to be pressured to follow your parents foot steps in something you don't agree with or want to do.     Summary: Today in class we presented our story map and scored our classmates' story maps.  Reflection: Seeing my classmates present their story maps really showed how different people had it growing up and how different everyone's experiences were. And it gave me an opportunity to learn more about my classmates.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

 Prompt Response: During a reception at a church for a wedding, the pastor mentioned that you and your partner should never sleep apart. He mentioned that separation always starts off with the little things. Someone gets mad and they sleep on the couch or they go out and sleep over at a friends house. He encouraged forgiveness to one another and that every day is a new day to try again. The reason that stuck with me was because I've seen many relationships in my family never last long or end up terribly. I don't ever want that to happen to me in the future with my wife.  Summary: Today in class we presented our posters.  Reflection: I liked our poster for Rose except for one thing. For the most part I liked everything but next time I’ll get a card to read off of better.
