Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview?

Prompt response: I believed that everyone could be helped with enough support and that they would be perfectly fine afterwards. Not everyone wants to be helped. I realized this when an old friend of mine was going through a very rough relationship. They had all types of issues going on. I kept providing ways of dealing with their situation but they never took my advice. I soon came to realize that they didn’t want help. The best help I could give them was letting them learn on their own without interfering. That friend eventually did learn and moved on. I too learned that day.

Summary: Today in class we had to make a poem with phrases from letters 71-75.

Reflection: Making the poem was a bit more difficult than I thought. The hard part was figuring out which phrases would fit with the previous one to give the poem meaning and not just be nonsense.

You are working on your storymap which is reflection on your past. Thinking about your future, as you graduate high school, what role does the Atlanta metro area play in your life? Do you plan to stay or move away? Explain your reasoning.

Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?
