In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break.
Prompt Response: During my Holiday Break I went and did things I've never done. For one I went to Ponce City Market and The Rooftop. It was beautiful. Seeing all the big building of Atlanta was one great experience. The food at Ponce was so good and they had a variety of foods. From Chinese, Mexican, and even German food. It was all great and I'd definitely recommend going there for a nice night out.
Summary: Today in class we wrote 4 goals for this year.
Reflection: Having an opportunity to sit down and write goals was great. I got to think about what I want to accomplish this year and have in mind for the future.
FOUR GOALS:
The first goal I want to start with is losing at least 15 lbs by May of this year. Reaching this goal would help me feel better physically, mentally, and gain more confidence within myself. To accomplish this goal, I will need to be in a calorie deficit, exercise at least 3 times a week, and have discipline. By May, I hope to feel better in my body and be prepared for graduation pictures.
My second goal of the year would be to finish high school with all A's in every class. I believe finishing strong would set a clear path and perspective going into the world. Setting a schedule, completing assignments with hard work, and asking for help (like sail) would help me stay focused and on track. I want to accomplish this goal before finals week starts.
The third goal is to save a minimum of $ 10,000 so I can buy a car. Currently, my dad cannot drive because of a recent medical procedure, so having to depend on taxis and Uber is becoming an issue. I'd also want a car for college and for finding better job opportunities as well. I currently have no saving so I would need to open up a saving account, put a portion of my checks aside (40-50%), and create a budget for maximum saving. I want to achieve this goal by August before college begins.
My final goal would be to find a higher-paying job. Currently, I make only $9 per hour. Personally, I think my hard work does not match the pay, and I'd like to have money for college costs. At my current job, the pay rate is not much for college nor saving for a car by my due date. To get started on my goal, I would need to improve my resume, apply to higher-wage jobs online and in person, and finally start reaching out to see if anyone I know could offer me and position or recommendation. I want this goal accomplished by April.
