Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response: During the break I went to Ponce City Market. At Ponce I explored all the local shops and ate some delicious food. The local shops were wonderful, they had all types of shops from clothes, toys, and decor. One of the shops I entered had a small thrift store as well as a famous vintage photo booth. It was a pretty cool store but the prices were crazy high. The food at Ponce was amazing and there was a variety of restaurants. I decided to go with Mexican food at Minero. I ordered a chipotle steak burrito and the three amigos starter. The service and food was great but also very filling. There was definitely no room for dessert. After enjoying a wonderful lunch I walked around some more and headed home to the end of my day adventuring out.

Summary: Today in class we read a poem and analyzed the deeper meaning of similes and metaphors.

Reflection: The poem was very important in identifying the theme of resilience. Analyzing the poem also helped with thinking of the bigger picture of the poem and understanding in a deeper sense.

Write about a dream that felt real.

You are working on your storymap which is reflection on your past. Thinking about your future, as you graduate high school, what role does the Atlanta metro area play in your life? Do you plan to stay or move away? Explain your reasoning.

Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?
